Job Description

The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that products are effectively displayed, promoted, and maintained across retail outlets in line with brand and company standards. The role focuses on maximizing product visibility, ensuring stock availability, supporting promotional activities, and collecting market insights to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Product Display and Merchandising Execution
    Key Activities:
    • Arrange and maintain product displays according to planograms and brand guidelines.
    • Ensure shelves are clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times.
    • Set up promotional displays, price tags, and point-of-sale (POS) materials as directed
    • Implement new product placements and ensure visibility in key store areas.
  2. Stock Management
    Key Activities:
    • Monitor inventory levels in retail stores to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
    • Coordinate with store staff and sales representatives to ensure timely product replenishment.
    • Check product expiry dates, remove damaged goods, and report discrepancies
  3. Sales and Promotion Support
    Key Activities:
    • Assist in executing marketing campaigns, in-store promotions, and product launches
    • Provide product knowledge and support to retail personnel when needed.
    • Track and report on the performance of promotions and special displays
  4. Stock and Inventory Monitoring
    Key Activities:
    • Track stock levels in stores to ensure product availability and avoid stockouts.
    • Monitor slow-moving or excess inventory and provide feedback for corrective planning
  5. Reporting and Analysis
    Key Activities:
    • Compile daily, weekly, or monthly reports on field activities, sales trends, and market feedback.
  6. Competitors Monitoring
    Key Activities:
    • Monitor and report competitor products, prices, displays, and promotions.
    • Provide insights and suggestions to the merchandising or sales team to improve market positioning.
  7. Store Relationship
    Key Activities
    • Maintain strong relationships with store managers, sales teams, and field coordinators.
  8. Regular Meeting and Alignment
    Key Activities:
    • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge and company objectives.
